MINUTES

Rep. Anderson, Chair of the Agriculture Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:28 a.m. on March 10, 2015 in Hearing Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep. Anderson, P. started the meeting at 10:16 a.m. a quorum was not present.

Bob Zelenka, Farmamerica, and Roger Steinkamp, Executive Director, Farmamerica, presented on the Minnesota Agriculture Interpretive Center.

Chair Anderson called the meeting to order at 10:28 a.m. a quorum was present.

Rep. Clark Johnson moved to adopt the minutes from March 4, 2015 and March 5, 2015. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1130 Farmamerica provided funding, and money appropriated.

Rep. Johnson moved HF1130 to be re-referred to the Committee on State Government Finance.

Testifying on HF1130 Rep. Cornish, Doug Busselman, Minnesota Farm Bureau, Bob Zelenka, Farmamerica.

Rep. Johnson renewed his motion that HF1130 be re-referred to the Committee on State Government Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF0532 Nonprofit ticket or admission sales tax exemption clarified.

Rep. Rarick moved HF0532 be re-referred to the Committee on Taxes.

Rep. Rarick moved the A15-0064 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Testifying on HF0532, Rep. Petersburg, Bob Zelenka, the Minnesota Grain and Feed Association.

Rep. Rarick renewed his motion that HF0532 be re-referred as amended to the Committee on Taxes. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1187 Equity-stripping law protection extended to owners of agricultural property.

Rep. Franson moved that HF1187 be re-referred to the Committee on Civil Law and Data Practices.

Rep. Franson moved the A15-0129 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1230 Agricultural purposes definition modified for class 2 properties.

Rep. Marquart moved that HF1230 be re-referred to the Committee on Property Tax and Local Government Finance Division.

Rep. Marquart renews his motion that HF1230 be re-referred to the Committee on Property Tax and Local Government Finance Division. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF0287 Agricultural homestead classification for property allowed.

Rep. Poppe moved that HF0287 be re-referred to the Committee on Property Tax and Local Government Finance Division.
