MINUTES

Representative Clark, Chair of Committee on Housing Finance and Policy, called the seventh meeting to order at 12:33pm on 2/6/2013 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Moran moved that the minutes of February 4, 2013 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

The following individuals from the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency (MHFA) presented an overview of the agency's budget:
Commissioner Mary Tingerthal, MHFA
Assistant Commissioner Tonja Orr, MHFA

The following individuals from the Minnesota Housing Partnership presented on rural housing issues:
Julie Johnson, Policy & Outreach Coordinator
Bill Vanderwall, Capacity Building Manager

The meeting was adjourned at 2:03pm.

  • HF816 (Anderson) - Janet's Law enacted, and radon testing required for all residential homes.
  • HF829 (Allen) - Landlord violation civil penalty imposed; tenant hold over provisions amended; time appeal and notice of hearing modified; and technical, clarifying, and conforming changes made.
  • HF859 (Simon) - Landlords and tenants; victims of violence remedies established, and Housing Opportunity Made Equitable (HOME) pilot project established.
