MINUTES

Representative Lanning, Chair of the State Government Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 4:02 p.m. on March 14, 2011, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Hayden was excused.

A quorum was present.

Representative Murray moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on March 10, 2011, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Lohmer moved HF 466 and HF 866 for possible inclusion in the State Government Finance Omnibus bill.

Representative Lohmer and Representative Morrow testified on HF 466 and HF 866.

Kathy Vitalis, Executive Director of the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans; Larry Namen, Veteran; and Jean Lee, President and Executive Director of Children's Hope International, R&R Family Centers, and the Asian-Pacific American Housing Consortium testified on HF 466 and HF 866.

Chair Lanning laid over HF 466 and HF 866 for possible inclusion in the State Government Finance Omnibus bill.

Representative Stensrud moved HF 756 for possible inclusion in the State Government Finance Omnibus bill.

Representative Stensrud moved the H0756DE2 amendment to HF 756. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Stensrud testified on HF 756, as amended.

Representative Simon moved the H0756A2 amendment to HF 756.

Representative Winkler requested a roll-call vote on the H0756A2 amendment to HF 756.

The following eight members voted in favor of the motion: GAUTHIER, GREENE, KAHN, LILLIE, MUPRHY, SIMON, SLAWIK, and WINKLER.

The following eleven members voted against the motion: ANDERSON, BANAIAN, BENSON, DOWNEY, GUNTHER, LANNING, LEIDIGER, McELFATRICK, MURRAY, STENSRUD, and URDAHL.

THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL (8 - 11).

Chair Lanning laid over HF 756, as amended, for possible inclusion in the State Government Finance Omnibus bill.

Representative Downey moved HF 418 for possible inclusion in the State Government Finance Omnibus bill.

Representative Downey testified on HF 418.

Jim Rhodes, Legislative Director at the Department of Administration testified on HF 418.

Chair Lanning laid over HF 418 for possible inclusion in the State Government Finance Omnibus bill.

Representative Stensrud moved HF 1024 for possible inclusion in the State Government Finance Omnibus bill.

Representative Stensrud moved the H1024A1 amendment to HF 1024. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Stensrud testified on HF 1024, as amended.

Mike McIlhiney, Legislative Director at the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs testified on HF 1024.

Chair Lanning laid over HF 1024, as amended, for possible inclusion in the State Government Finance Omnibus bill.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:06 p.m.
