MINUTES

Representative Lanning, Chair of the State Government Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:16 a.m. on February 8, 2011, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Kahn was excused.

A quorum was present.

Representative Greene moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on February 3, 2011, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Lanning moved HF 173.

Representative Peppin testified on HF 173 and requested the adoption of an oral amendment that would change "odd" to "even" on page 3, line 19.

Chair Lanning moved that HF 173 be amended as follows: Page 3, Line 19, delete the word "odd," and replace it with "even." THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Jim Rhodes, Legislative Director for the Department of Administration testified on HF 173.

Chair Lanning laid over HF 173 for possible inclusion in the State Government Finance omnibus bill.

Representative Banaian moved that HF 2 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Banaian moved the H0002A2 amendment to HF 2. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Banaian moved the MS/HRD amendment to HF 2. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Banaian moved that HF 2, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Winkler requested a roll-call vote on HF 2.

The following twelve members voted in favor of the motion: LANNING, BENSON, ANDERSON, BANAIAN, DOWNEY, GUNTHER, LEIDIGER, LOHMER, McELFATRICK, MURRAY, STENSRUD, and URDAHL.

The following seven members voted against the motion: GAUTHIER, HAYDEN, LILLIE, MURPHY, SIMON, SLAWIK, and WINKLER.

THE MOTION PREVAILED (12-7).

The meeting was adjourned at 9:32 a.m.
