GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS AND ELECTIONS

MINUTES

Representative Peppin, acting Chair of the Government Operations and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2011 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Scalze moved approval of the minutes from February 9, 2011. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WHERE APPROVED.

H.F. 192 (Downey) Reinventing Government Employment Act proposed, et al.
Representative Beard moved that H.F. 192 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the House Committee on State Government Finance.

Representative Beard moved the H0192A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

On a vote of 6 AYES and 8 NAYS, THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL AND THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.

Representative Nelson moved the H0192A4 amendment and requested a roll call vote.

Representative Beard renewed his motion that H.F. 192 be recommended to pass, as amended and re-referred to the House Committee on State Government Finance. Representative Nelson requested a roll call vote.

H.F. 102 (Mahoney) Minnesota science and technology program established.

Representative Nelson moved that H.F. 102 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Jobs and Economic Development Finance.

Representative Nelson renewed his motion that H.F. 102 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Jobs and Economic Development Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND H.F. 101 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS AND RE-REFERRED TO THE HOUSE COMMITTEE ON JOBS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FINANCE.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:20 a.m.
