GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS AND ELECTIONS

MINUTES

Representative Peppin, Chair of the Government Operations and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:19 a.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Scalze moved approval of the minutes from January 27, 2011. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

The Committee heard a presentation from the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission.

HF 212 (Beard) Public employee definition modified

Representative Beard moved that H.F. 212 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Beard renewed his motion that H.F. 212 be recommended to pass, and be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED. H.F. 212 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS.

HF 62 (Ward) Workers Memorial Garden on the State Capitol grounds updated to include a reference to the Milford Mine Disaster in Crosby that occurred on February 5, 1924

Representative Greene moved that H.F. 62 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the House Committee on State Government Finance.

Representative Greene renewed her motion that H.F. 62 be recommended to pass, and be re-referred to the House Committee on State Government Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED. H.F. 62 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS, AND WAS RE-REFERRED TO THE HOUSE COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT FINANCE.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:45 a.m.
