MINUTES

Representative Hoppe, Chair of the Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:35 on May 11, 2011, in the Basement hearing room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Atkins moved HF343 and recommended that it be re-referred to the Consent Calendar.

Jim Arlt from Department of Public Safety testified.

Representative Atkins moved amendment H0343DE1. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Representative Hoppe moved to approve the minutes for May 4, 2011. The motion prevailed.

Representative Hoppe laid HF0343 over as amended.

Representative Daudt moved HF1637 and amendment H1637DE1.

Tess Rice from MN Bankers Association testified.

Representative Hoppe laid HF1637 over.

Representative Hilty moved HF0610 for an informational hearing.

Byron Dale testified.

Representative Hoppe laid HF0610 over.

Representative Hoppe handed the gavel to Representative Sanders at 3:44 pm.

Representative Hoppe moved HF1692.

Representative Crawford moved HF0997 and recommended that it be passed and re-referred to the Rules Committee.

Representative Crawford moved amendment H0997A4 and incorporated changes on line 2.19. Before the period after 10A, insert "or chapter 211B."

Mike Hickey from National Federation of Independent Business testified.

Gary Goldsmith, Minnesota Director of Campaign Finance Disclosure Board testified.

Jeff Smith from Minnesota Pollution Control Agency testified.

Representative Crawford renewed his motion that HF0997 be recommended to pass as amended and be re-referred to the Rules Committee.

Bob Baas from ATT testified.

Brent Christenson from MN Telecom Alliance testified.

Rob Hammond from Blue Earth Valley Telephone Company testified.

Dan Lipshultz from Moss & Barnett testified.

Sean Simpson from T-Mobile Wireless testified.
