MINUTES

Representative Sanders, Vice-Chair of the Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:35:33 on April 7, 2011, in the Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Kieffer moved HF1362 and recommended that it be passed and re-referred to the Jobs and Economic Development Committee.

Ken Peterson, the Commissioner of the Department of Labor and Industry testified.

Representative Kieffer renewed her motion that HF1362 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Jobs and Economic Development Committee. The motion prevailed.

Representative Crawford moved to approve the minutes for April 4, 2011. The motion prevailed.

Representative Hoppe moved HF0895 and recommended that it be passed and re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Hoppe moved amendment H0895A1. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Bob Johnson from the Insurance Federation of MN testified.

Representative Sanders handed the gavel to Representative Kieffer at 12:47.

Representative Hoppe renewed his motion that HF0895 be recommended to pass as amended and re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Atkins moved HF0926 and recommended that it be passed and re-referred to the Health and Human Services Reform Committee.

Representative Gottwalt introduced HF0926.

Lisa Bodine from the MN Chamber of Commerce testified.

Representative Atkins moved amendment H0926A1.

Representative Atkins withdrew his motion on amendment H0926A1.

Mike Hickey from the National Federation of Independent Business testified.

Representative Atkins renewed his motion that HF0926 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Health and Human Services Reform Committee. The motion prevailed.

Representative Sarah Anderson moved HF0809 and recommended that it be passed and re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Sarah Anderson moved amendment H0809DE2. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Representative Anderson renewed her motion that HF0809 be recommended to pass as amended and re-referred to the General Register.

The chair adjourned the meeting at 1:23 p.m.
