MINUTES

Representative Hamilton, Chair of the Agriculture & Rural Development Policy & Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:20 a.m. on March 15, 2011, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Persell moved that the minutes of March 9, 2011 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Paul Anderson assumed the gavel at 10:23 a.m.

Chair Paul Anderson moved HF 548 to be heard before the committee and be re-referred to the Taxes Committee.
Testifying on HF 548 were:

Gloria Pinke , Association of Assessing Officers
Chair Paul Anderson moved amendment H0548A1. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Chair Paul Anderson moved that HF 548 as amended pass and be re-referred to the Taxes Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


Representative McElfatrick moved HF 993 before the committee and to be held over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

Representative McElfatrick moved amendment A11-0135. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative McElfatrick moved that HF 993 pass as amended and be held over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Paul Anderson moved HF 264 be heard before the committee and held over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.
Testifying on HF 264 were:

Joel Carlson - Legal Research/Government Affairs, St Paul, Minnesota

Representative Shimanski assumed the gavel at 11:17 a.m.
Representative Paul Anderson assumed the gavel at 11:22

Chair Anderson renewed his motion that HF 264 be held over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

Chair Anderson moved that HF 527 be heard before the committee and be held over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

Chair Anderson renewed his motion that HF 527 be held over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

  • HF264 (Urdahl) - Personal Responsibility in Food Consumption Act; actions against persons for weight gain as a result of food consumption prohibited.
  • HF527 (Davids) - Minnesota rural preserve property tax program modified.
  • HF548 (Buesgens) - Game bird and waterfowl sale included in the definition of agricultural products.
  • HF993 (McElfatrick) - County agricultural society land authority clarified.

We will be taking up HF548 to amend the language first on the agenda.
