Representative Benson, Vice-Chair of the Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:32 A.M. on Monday, March 23, 2009, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep. Gardner presented HF1333 (Gardner) Metropolitan area transit and paratransit capital expenditures additional funding provided, and certain obligations authorized.

Judd Schetnan, Government Affairs, Metropolitan Council testified on HF1333.

Rep. Champion moved adoption of the Transportation Policy and Finance Division Report for HF1333. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE DIVISION REPORT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Champion moved that HF1333 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Taxes.

Rep. Champion renewed the motion that HF1333 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Taxes. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Carlson moved approval of the minutes of Friday, March 20, 2009. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

Rep. Hilty moved that HF894, First Engrossment be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Rep. Atkins presented HF894, First Engrossment (Atkins) Commerce commissioner required to collect and hold in escrow fees paid by Minnesota ratepayers for permanent repository for disposal of high-level radioactive waste.

Rep. Hilty renewed the motion that HF894, First Engrossment be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Wagenius moved adoption of the Environment and Natural Resources Finance Division Report for HF865. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE DIVISION REPORT WAS ADOPTED.



Rep. Wagenius moved that HF865 be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register.

Rep. Welti presented HF865 (Welti) Wabasha and Olmsted Counties; Great River Ridge Trail established.

Rep. Wagenius renewed the motion that HF865 be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:24 A.M.
